OUR STAFF:

Brian S. Stotlar
B.A., CPA

Has worked for four years with a national CPA firm in Chicago, and seven years for a Madison based regional accounting firm before joining Stotlar & Stotlar, SC in 1985. His duties included establishing and monitoring a Quality Control program for the regional firm. The program covers all aspects of planning, performing, reviewing, and issuance of all audit engagements for the firm. In addition, he was the partner in charge of several not for profit and for profit entities. Mr. Stotlar was also the review person on a CETA prime sponsor audit in Minneapolis, MN and the review person for all twenty-eight Medicaid reimbursement audits performed on nursing homes throughout the state. Other audit experiences include city and county government audits, and HUD and revenue sharing engagements. While in Chicago, he worked on audits for three major suburbs in the Chicago area, one county audit, and several bond compliance audits.

Outside of the business, Brian’s civic and professional activities have included Treasurer of Stoughton Badger Boosters, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer of the Exchange Club, member and Chairman of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Competence Aid committee, and member of the Accountancy Regulation Committee.

Brian’s friends and family and his avid pursuit of golfing excellence occupy his time when he is not in the office. One of the highlights of his golfing career was a “hole in one” at Stoughton Country Club on the par-three, which he and his wife sponsor.

Carol A. Stotlar
B.A., M.S., CPA

Worked for four years for a regional accounting firm before starting her own practice in 1982. Her responsibilities included auditing not for profit and for profit institutions, researching tax issues and preparing and reviewing tax returns, preparing compiled and reviewed financial statements, and consulting with small business clients.

Ms. Stotlar is currently supervising the preparation of financial statements and tax forms for over 75 local firms. These businesses are diverse in size and type, and include retail operations, law firms, consultants, manufacturers and others. She assists these businesses in all phases of their operations. She has spoken for the Small Business and other organizations on business and tax issues.

In addition to operating the business, Carol has served as Treasurer for the Madison YWCA, President and Treasurer for Independent Living, Inc., Financial Advisory Board member for the Rainbow Project, Board member for Montessori Children’s House and Treasurer for the Wisconsin Women’s Intercollegiate Sports Club.

She enjoys collecting antique Fiestaware, volunteering at the Humane Society, reading, baking, sports, and spending time with her family. When she is not in Madison, Carol may be found in Hilton Head, South Carolina trying to improve her golf game.

Sarah Wilde

Administrative Secretary

Sarah joined Stotlar & Stotlar in 2017. She has an extensive background in customer service and office operations from answering phones to staff training and management. A proud “Office Ninja,” Sarah keeps the office running smoothly by answering phones to making sure the team doesn’t run out of paperclips.

Sarah earned her Associate of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2008. Sarah is a polymath, eagerly diving into whatever is interesting her at the moment, and has vast knowledge on a wide variety of topics – which makes her great at trivia games! But, broad interests aside, and for the sake of brevity, she enjoys camping, hiking, and kayaking with her husband. In 2015 she decided to start learning Spanish, and she is also an avid gardener, hobby farmer, beekeeper, world traveler, writer, and reader.

Nicholas Foerster

Staff Accountant

Nick joined Stotlar & Stotlar, SC in September of 2016. He performs auxiliary accounting duties within the office for the firm’s partners and the senior staff accountants. His responsibilities with the firm include preparing individual tax returns, handling miscellaneous bookkeeping duties, balancing bank reconciliations, and preparing quarterly payroll payments and reports.

Nick is a graduate of the Madison Area Technical College and holds multiple degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Business Management. He also earned his B.A. in Christian Education from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. His past work experience includes a variety of leadership, teaching, and ministerial roles in both church and nonprofit organizations.

He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two daughters. As a family they enjoy traveling to see relatives, bike rides, water parks, playing board games, and attending church activities. They are also avid fans of cheering on Bucky Badger and the Green Bay Packers.

Chezlie Johnson
Staff Accountant

Chezlie joined Stotlar & Stotlar in January of 2018. Her responsibilities include preparing individual and business tax returns, preparing financial statements, and preparing quarterly payroll reports.

Chezlie earned her bachelors in Accounting from Iowa State University in December of 2017 and then moved to Wisconsin shortly after. She holds 150 credit hours and is going to obtain her certified public accountant license.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, reading, scrapbooking, refinishing furniture and doing home improvement projects, watching football, and spending time outdoors along the river while the weather is nice. Chezlie is new to the area and looks forward to experiencing Madison.


Keturah Cox
Payroll Specialist

Keturah joined Stotlar & Stotlar in August of 2017. Her responsibilities include payroll processing, Stoughton office assistance, and learning how to tackle any other odds and ends that come her way. Keturah came on board with previous experience in Accounts Receivable in QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Office.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Deciding general organization of all things data, numbers, and information were more her interest than pursuing medical school, she moved on to office management before transitioning to payroll.

A former competitive archer, Keturah enjoys spending time outdoors camping, hiking, and cycling. She is also a much in-demand house-and-pet-sitter!
